@kaythefirsttoheal: "Cover up your uncle's coming" is an example of a generational curse. Why must a child cover up in front of her relative? What does this instil in young girls? That our bodies are inherently bad, something that can be taken advantage of or perceived wrong even by our close relatives. We were little girls; free, open and loved every part of ourselves. But somehow along the line we got taught it's a sin, a burden, it's wrong to be in essence of our body, to even show our arms or legs or neck. The shame started there, at home. My 20s have consisted of living in my body over and over again. Dancing, singing, connecting. My body is the vessel that light can breathe. If my body, as a woman, is inherently a sin, you should start questioning is the body that gave birth to you also a sin? If so, then so is your beginning.
