Becoming cursed objects After the end of his original life, Sukuna's power persisted through twenty indestructible fingers containing his cursed energy. These fingers became cursed objects, allowing his power to survive long after the Heian era. For centuries, sorcerers were unable to destroy them. Instead, they were preserved as dangerous relics. ### 4\. Meeting Yuji Itadori In the modern era, Yuji Itadori swallowed one of Sukuna's fingers to save his friends. This allowed Sukuna to awaken inside Yuji's body. However, Yuji possessed an extraordinary ability to suppress Sukuna and retain control. Sukuna was forced to share a body with someone he considered beneath him, and he constantly searched for opportunities to regain his freedom. Eventually, Sukuna found a way to transfer himself into Megumi Fushiguro, whose Ten Shadows Technique offered him a new opportunity to pursue his ambitions. ### 5\. The battle against Gojo After taking over Megumi's body, Sukuna faced Satoru Gojo, the strongest modern sorcerer. Their battle became one of the most significant confrontations in the series. Sukuna used Megumi's Ten Shadows Technique, including Mahoraga's adaptation, to overcome Gojo's Infinity. Sukuna ultimately won the battle, proving that even the strongest modern sorcerer could be defeated.
