@rap.minded: Lil Baby’s timing was on another level in this freestyle 😳🔥 On March 6, 2020, Lil Baby returned to Hot 97 for Funk Flex Freestyle No. 147. The appearance came one week after the release of his second studio album, “My Turn,” which he promotes at the beginning of the session. As the production changes, Baby adjusts his cadence without stopping or losing momentum. Instead of restarting his verse or forcing the same flow onto a different rhythm, he moves with the instrumental and continues without missing a single bar. This was his second appearance in the Funk Flex freestyle series, following Freestyle No. 117 in 2018. Hot 97 later included that earlier performance among its 10 best Funk Flex freestyles of the decade. “My Turn” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, becoming Lil Baby’s first chart-topping album. It eventually spent five weeks at No. 1 and finished 2020 as the most-consumed album across all genres in the United States.
