Police issued an AMBER Alert on Sept. 6, and a tip received Sept. 14 helped investigators track them to Mexico. Working with the FBI and Mexican authorities, investigators eventually secured the teen’s safe rescue. Sergio was arrested in Mexico on local drug possession allegations, and U.S. officials are pursuing his extradition. The teen remains in the care of Mexican authorities, while the investigation into Baby Angelita’s death continues.
