Andrea Dworkin. A woman who I don't agree with at all but nonetheless respect. She alone championed the protection of boys when leftists, feminists, & queer liberationists failed on this issue.

Interesting how the “natural and understandable curiosity” is targeted at women. People don’t read the work of Stephen King and ponder “what made a man write something like this🤔” but when it comes to a woman it’s sort of impossible for people to believe she could come up with a piece of work that’s detached from personal experiences. It’s the “of course she says that, she went through X Y and Z” it’s sort of invalidating the veracity of her arguments as mere reaction or resentment to past events. Similar thing happened to Stephenie Meyer with Twilight, she had to clarify that she was this conversative mormon proper lady so people didn’t brand her as the hormonal evil old lady trying to corrupt the youth.

I was 16 and remember this appearance in Phil Donohue. She made a strong impression on me and I read a lot of her work in high school and college.

Oh I just went into the rabbit hole searching her name 😅 she's not a good person but one of the few ones that spoke on women's rights in the 80s
