@cbsla: A longtime resident of Newport Beach described waking up to coastal flooding as ocean water surged onto streets and properties in the Balboa Peninsula community on Friday morning. He spoke to CBS LA’s Michele Gile about the coastal flooding that inundated streets and properties as elevated tides and storm conditions pushed ocean water into the community. City officials urged residents and visitors to avoid the peninsula. The National Weather Service’s coastal flood advisory remains in effect through Tuesday, with the highest flooding risk expected Sunday.
