@cbcottawa: A watermain break closed part of Riverside Drive in Ottawa Friday between Tremblay Road and Industrial Avenue. Ottawa police first announced the closure at noon. A large sinkhole spanning the width of one lane could later be seen in the area. The city said drivers can expect major delays as crews respond. #ottawa

I got stuck in traffic here today. Saw some ppl stuck in a car with water up to the hood. Took me 30 min to do a drive that normally takes 5 min hopefully no injuries

I remember when the sinkhole on the 174 in 2012 happened going to orleans, I literally drove over that same area less than an hour before It happened

The underhround infrastructure is over 50 years old everywhere across the city. This is going to start happening much more. Especially within a 1000 yd or more of the new O-train tracks. The seismic vibration through the ground will crack and break the pipes
