I broke my arm in Italy really bad (basically I broke my humerus as bad as you broke your hand…in two) and I had to have a bar put in. They told me I can’t have it taken out for a year. They also didn’t cast me after my surgery once I got the hardware bc they said that was my “cast”. It stabilized it so I didn’t need a cast. I did have to wear a sling though. Hopefully it’ll be the same and you won’t even get a cast. Also if it makes you feel any better I’m off work until January (it will be 6 months by that time) and I just had to make an appt for an MRI for my shoulder bc they are worried I tore something when I fell. So I may not even get to go back to work in January if I have to have surgery on my shoulder. It’s been an awful experience I’ll tell ya!

I broke 3 toes from my right foot. And my mom took me to the Red Cross en Mexico and the doctor there straightened them right there with out anesthesia and put 3 splits. I was screaming and he says it doesn’t hurt why are you making a big deal 😳. He says it they don’t get straight in 3 weeks you are going to need surgery. Two got straight, one a little crooked so I just left it like that.

My son broke 4th and 5th metacarpal, Boxers fracture. he has 2 plates and 10 screws. they can stay in forever.

I had a stroke at 37 and lost my dominant side ability. You’ll be surprised how well you’re going to adapt with using one hand and your non dominant side.

I have actually broken my hand like this but they did the surgery next day. It’s kind of painful so make sure you take your medicine and keep it elevated for swelling. Good luck

Going in with a fracture like that, they will most likely schedule your surgery either same day or within the next couple days. That’s what my office does, because you don’t want the bone to start healing while it’s displaced.

Watching you do your makeup I’m like …. If I had to do my entire makeup routine without my non dominant hand…. I’d crash out 😭 and that’s like only one part of your day 😭 you’re handling this really well all things considered girl

Here is something silly. I am right handed. When I broke my wrist and had my hand in a cast, I didn’t sleep regular. I would go to sleep in my regular spot on the bed. When I woke up, I was at the other end of the bed.

My daughter (15) broke her scaphoid bone on her dominant hand and just had surgery last Friday. I couldn’t imagine someone doing everything she has to do by herself PLUS cook herself food?! I feel for you 😭😭
