tklv :
the vibe I got from the trailers was just "here's all the comebacks I thought of later and wish I'd said in that argument: the movie." and that while I do think we throw the phrase "Netflix lighting" around too much, that's kind of what it's giving. just very flat and blue. bunch of great actors, though. I'm sure they're acting their faces off.

the dialogue got on my nerves it was all quirk chungus. any scene that had weight immediately fell through because someone HAS to be funny

Agree, I just walked out of there thinking what a waste of a great cast

i rewatched the Newsroom last year and I've been thinking about Aaron Sorking often since then. His "worst case scenario" for what news/mainstream media/politics would become was like, 1000x less bad than what it actually became, so I can only imagine it broke something in his psyche. i don't think he can handle how f-up things have gotten.

Damn, I was afraid of this when I saw it was Sorkin without Fincher.

so sad, I love the social network but ever since it was announced that sorkin was directing I've had little hope. Seeing it later today, maybe I'll like it.

Amen. Sorkin scripts do best when they’re not handled by Sorkin
