@andrew.millison: ▶DONATE HERE: https://maearth.com/oic/orangutan At this school in Sumatra, children pay their tuition in tree seedlings. Each student brings at least four seedlings every month. Their parents don’t have to pay money for school, and the children learn practical skills that connect growing food with protecting the forest. At the Orangutan Information Center’s nature school, lessons include harvesting rosella. Rosella is a type of hibiscus. They also learn how to turn food forest harvests into useful products. The school is part of a wider conservation project: helping the next generation grow food, support their families, and care for the habitat around them.
