There are other initiatives for helping people of other races and ethnicities. The focus on antisemitism stems from the fact that of all religiously motivated hate crimes, 50% target Jews (per the FBI). The Jewish community is disproportionately experiencing antisemitism right now, especially in NYC. Please stop with the whataboutism.

My problem is that with the creation of this antisemitism task force, the NYPD commissioner is still in charge of arresting and charging people who are accused of committing these “antisemitic hate crimes”…..the same NYPD commissioner who marched with war criminals and has loudly proclaimed on numerous occasions that anti-Zionism is antisemitism. Jessica Tisch should have been replaced by an anti-Zionist who does not conflate anti-Zionism with antisemitism and would combat genuine antisemitic hate crimes. Mamdani also has not disbanded the SRG, the response group that is responsible for brutalizing and beating pro-Palestinian college protesters on Columbia University campus, which was a campaign promise from him and he’s been in office for almost a year now. Another thing is that while yes, synagogues are vulnerable to genuine antisemitic hate crimes, many of those same synagogues are hosting illegal land sales of illegally stolen Palestinian land within the Occupied West Bank and he has not exercised his authority to prevent the sale of these illegally stolen lands in synagogues. This has been my issue with Mamdani for a few months now. No politician is above criticism and pressure campaigns to fulfill campaign promises
