I think the government needs to give every kid 1 book free then if students want other books they should pay for them. Reading is a huge part of growing these children into great humans.

I think they should have book fairs, but make them as accessible as possible! the scholastic catalogs have $2 books, these should be at the fairs also. And keep it about the books, not the random other junk.

The scholastics website has a way that people can put money in a fund kind of and kids who don’t have money can go and buy something. I love that idea and being able to give a little bit of joy to these kids.

No I don’t think they should have the book fairs. I have been on the side of not having money. To think back on it I don’t think I ever bought anything from the book fairs because I knew mom didn’t have money. I remember the Santa workshops & not having money or maybe only having a dollar or two.

I think book fairs are very important just as libraries are I raised my son on books nothing but books and it’s sad that they’re not many any more being produced

I’m a teacher at a low income Catholic school and there is always children who can not attend our book fair because the books are so expensive. It breaks my heart every year. As a teacher, thank you for your love and support for our littlest learners and their teachers. You’re beautiful people raising beautiful souls❤️

It’s sad when a child doesn’t have money and can’t go into the book fair. I worked for a school district for 21 years and it is heartbreaking.

when i was a kid, my district did this thing where you could read extra books and do book reports. each report was worth a $5 coupon to use at the book fair.

there is nothing wrong with having book fairs, they should still be a thing. our school does not go as a class though, they only send kids that bring money during their activity through the week.

I don’t think they should sell anything like that. Our school does book fairs and they do fundraisers all the time and give incentives to sell. There are a lot of kids and families that can’t afford it. I also think schools should have free lunch for kids.

I hate to see book fairs, and but I think it would be more fair to not have them, but book fairs are great. Maybe these class can raise money and every kid gets a certain amount.
