Being the oldest doesn't anymore have bearing of what the truth is. That it's the one that Christ had founded. It's because of the prophesy of Jesus about apostasy which simultaneously occurred with what he founded. In that prophesy, he used the parable about the weeds and the wheat-Matthew 13:24-30 with the wheat which is what Christ had planted while almost at the same time, the enemy which is Satan the devil also planted his counterfeit church as represented by the weeds. The weeds had dominated and undermined the wheat making the true Christianity almost unidentifiable by the domination of the false Christianity. The fulfillment of the prophecy regarding apostasy has been confirmed to have happened during the days of the apostles as affirmed by the Apostle Paul-Acts 20:29-30 ; 2thessalonians 2:3-7. Affirmed also by the Apostle Peter-2peter 2:18-22 to have existed in his time. The domination of false Christianity resulted even to the tragic deaths of most of the apostles and the wide persecution of their followers making it appear the true Christianity was almost non existent most especially during the period of time marked as the "dark ages". William tyndale, an English scholar and a linguist, and the first to translate the Bible into English was even killed for what he did during that period. The domination of falsehoods went on until the restoration of God's true worship in modern times in accordance to his will. So the claim of being the oldest as the basis of which one is the truth does not hold true at all. Reason why in John 13:35, Jesus, knowing many would claim they are true Christians, gave the identifying mark of true Christianity which is the "Love For Fellowman" the one that would identify who his true followers are. Jesus wouldn't have the need to give that identifying mark of "Love For Fellowman" had it been automatic that the one which is the oldest is the basis of knowing which one is the true Christianity, the one that he had founded in the first century. So, does your religion possesses that identifying mark of "Love For Fellowman"? Know the truth that the Bible contains. It's the truth that will set you free from falsehoods.
