I think that they shut phones off to make you call them and pay it so they can get this fee. Verizon has shut off my family’s phones three times in the past year and a half, and every single time, every single time, we either had a pay plan, or had already paid our bill and had a pay plan for a bill that wasn’t due for weeks.

They do this because they want you to link you bank account so they can draft the funds automatically. That's the only way to avoid the fee. It's a poor tax.

Today I had to take my doggie to the vet. (Long story) Hefty bill - but that’s not the crazy part. The front desk lady said, they have a new system. I said ok, no biggie. And she continued: we have an extra 3% (‼️) charge just to use credit card. (When you pay 100s or 1000s that 3% can be significant.) I said no way jose! I will pay with cash. -Sorry we are no longer taking cash! THEY ARE FORCING YOU TO PAY WITH CARD 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
