My friend told me “Verity is her best book by far and it STILL SUCKS” so that’s when I knew to never touch any of her books

I read this book because I was told it had a great twist. It does not. I didn't even realize the ending was supposed to be ambiguous, that's how bad it is. And so, by that token, LYING to your readers about what's happening for an entire book and then saying "surprise! i lied!" is NOT a twist.

The general plot sounded like it COULD be very interesting but instead it was written by Colleen Hoover

So happy to see verity hate on main. Refusing to watch the movie but I am curious if the movie includes the weird gruesome death that happens in the opening of the book

I watched this before going to bed and had a nightmare I was stuck in a house with an anne hathaway looking woman, a man, another woman closer in age to me, a and a child, and it was this hell of trying to escape under threat of death. couldn’t tell you what was so scary specifically but I am impressed that I had a nightmare based on the description of a story and not even a scary movie 😭 fortunately in the dream I was able to escape with the baby btw, and now I’m just sitting here feeling scared still lol

I'm a firm believer that Colleen Hoover does not know how to write at all.

I ignored Verity since I hated Colleen Hoover, I didn't think people would actually watch it, thanks for taking one for the team so I actually know how bad it was.

I honestly feel like this premise could be so interesting if Jeremy was a twist villain and Verity a secondary love interest becoming primary after the reveal. Like if you change Verity having wrote the secret book to it being Jeremy's frame job of his disabled wife and Loan(?) learning that people can live full fulfilling lives with disabilities (in the way that Verity is disabled in the movie, not the book.)
