Earlier in the day Trump announced that Russia had agreed to immediately supply more than 300,000 metric tonnes of diesel to US and global markets, followed by 500,000 tonnes in November and a further 1 million tonnes thereafter. The US Treasury Department has also issued a temporary licence permitting Russian diesel imports until April 2027 as part of the agreement. The agreement represents a significant shift in US-Russia energy policy, temporarily easing restrictions on Russian diesel imports to increase fuel supplies.
