I take a GLP-1 and I would never try to push that on anyone else. That’s something that needs to be discussed between patient and doctor. People need to stay in their lane.

Day 278 of reading the Bible in a year 📖✨ Matthew 4 and Luke 4–5 take us deeper into the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. We see temptation, teaching, miracles, healing, calling, and people being invited to leave their old lives behind and follow Him. Matthew 4 begins with Jesus being led into the wilderness, where He is tempted. Three times, Jesus responds by standing firmly on God’s Word. When tempted to turn stones into bread, Jesus says: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” — Matthew 4:4 Jesus refuses to compromise, even when He is hungry and vulnerable. Then He begins preaching: “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” — Matthew 4:17 Jesus calls Simon Peter and Andrew, and then James and John. Their response is powerful: “They straightway left their nets, and followed him.” — Matthew 4:20 Luke 4 shows Jesus returning to Nazareth and reading from Isaiah in the synagogue. He declares that the Scripture is being fulfilled. But instead of receiving Him, many become angry and attempt to drive Him out of the city. Jesus continues His ministry despite rejection. He teaches, casts out demons, heals the sick, and demonstrates authority. Then Luke 5 gives us the miraculous catch of fish. After Simon Peter sees what Jesus has done, he falls before Him. Jesus tells him: “Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.” — Luke 5:10 And once again, they leave everything and follow Him. Luke 5 also gives us the healing of a man with palsy who is lowered through the roof by his friends. Jesus not only heals him physically but declares his sins forgiven, revealing His authority and challenging the religious leaders who questioned Him. Then Jesus calls Levi, a tax collector, to follow Him. Levi leaves his position and follows. This really stood out to me: Jesus kept calling people to leave something behind in order to follow Him. Peter left his nets. James and John left their boat and their father. Levi left his tax booth. And Jesus Himself refused to abandon God’s purpose when He faced temptation, rejection, and opposition. Following God doesn’t always mean we understand everything before we take the next step. Sometimes faith looks like putting down the net. Walking away from the booth. Leaving the boat. And saying: “Yes.” Matthew 4 and Luke 4–5 remind me that Jesus doesn’t simply call us to admire Him. He calls us to follow Him. 🙏🏽 What might God be asking you to leave behind so you can move forward into what He has for you? What stood out to you most from Matthew 4 and Luke 4–5? 📖❤️ #BibleInAYear #Matthew4 #Luke4 #Luke5 #Jesus
