@michele_bordonaro: A question often explored in grief coaching is: What part of your life have you stopped allowing yourself to want, simply because a loved one isn't here to share it with you? This isn't an easy question, because grief can often make us stop imagining a future for ourselves entirely. Dreams of traveling, moving, starting something new, retiring, falling in love, or growing old together can feel impossible when the person you imagined sharing them with is gone. It's common to believe that if you can't have the life you wanted with them, you don't want a different one. As a grief coach, I wouldn't try to talk you out of this feeling. Instead, we would explore what that lost future represented to you, and what fears arise if you allowed yourself to want something again. Does it feel like leaving them behind? Unfair? Does it make the loss feel more real? Then, we might explore this possibility: What if wanting something new didn't mean giving up your love for them? Your life still belongs to you, and you deserve the opportunity to discover what you want to do with it. You can grieve the future you lost without closing the door on every future still available to you. 🤍 Grieve fully. Live fully. Curious about how grief coaching can support you? I offer a complimentary 45-minute Grief Coaching Discovery Session. We'll discuss where you are, what you're navigating, and whether my private 8-week grief coaching experience is the right fit for you.
