i genuinely love everything about Azuma Naoki. how well written he is, how he looks, his backstory, literally EVERYTHING about him resembles me 👀 his problems are so relatable even if they're "not as bad" as the other characters' in takopis original sin bro i and many other people can understand him in such a spiritual way 🤔 he's constantly chasing the approval and validation of people around him—especially his mother's. due to this constant pressure of pleasing everyone around him, he's become a narcissist that always tries helping people even when he knows he himself isn't in a fitting place to focus on other people. his lore honestly just makes me feel so sad since I relate to him so much 🥹 and the small details like how his clothes are all hand-me-downs and how his glasses don't even match his prescription just emphasize the neglect coming from his mother. on another note, WHERE IS HIS FATHER???? anyways, Naoki developed a heavily unhealthy crush on Shizuka, relying on her for approval and just doing anything and everything for her just because she resembles his mom and was the only person who's ever depended on him. he deserves so much better guys he's such a hard working, intelligent, responsible person 😢 I love how he looks as well! not only is he visually appealing and easy on the eyes, but the way Taizan5 draws the characters of TOS like they're just random npcs really make you realize the people around you can most definitely have a life as full and as mellow as yours. can we talk about Junya as well though 😂 he's such a kind and caring sibling to Naoki bro you can definitely see how much they value and love each other as siblings conclusion: I like Naoki

When someone says something bad about Azuma Naoki but I genuinely don't play when it comes to him 😳 Naoki is all in all a very intelligent, determined, and helpful boy but with low self-worth, a lot of self-loathing, and a sense of perfectionism due to the pressure his mother constantly kept putting him under. In some of Taizan5's panels in his manga "Takopi's Original Sin" or "タコピーの原罪", Naoki is shown to have a crush on Kuze Shizuka, a fellow 4th grader in his school. This is because she resembled his mother, turned to him for help, saying he was the only person he could turn to, and "never gave up on him". This shows that Naoki's self-esteem is based on people's (especially his mother's) praise which is why he's so helpful. He's also quite jealous of his brother, Azuma Junya, because he was usually the one who got the attention which he so desperately craved from his mother. In conclusion, Naoki depends on the validation of others to gain meaning rather than finding it himself. Being raised to be perfect has completely altered his view of himself. When he is unable to meet the high expectations he put upon himself, he questions if he is able to do anything right at all—yet he always says he's capable and tries to fix everyone's problems. He's literally me guys 🤓
