The core of destructive winds from Category 3 Hurricane Isaias is approaching the Florida Panhandle, with wind gusts of 100–120+ MPH possible along portions of the coast over the next few hours. The 5 PM CDT update from the National Hurricane Center reports a wind gust of 72 MPH at Orange Beach, Alabama, and 69 MPH at a NOAA buoy offshore of Pensacola, Florida. Isaias remains a MAJOR HURRICANE with sustained winds of 115 MPH and a central pressure of 958 mb.
