You've summoned the Finnish people (arguably the only proper authority on saunas). You absolutely should not wear slippers in a sauna, the same way you're not supposed to wear clothes in a sauna. The plastic or rubber isn't meant to withstand that kind of heat (not to mention it's weird as hell).
