The reason your products are not in stores yet has nothing to do with your talent and everything to do with your fear of the follow up... Stay with me now. Most creative entrepreneurs send one beautiful email and then wait for a response that never comes; when the silence gets too loud, they assume the buyer hated the work or that the brand is not good enough. That's seldom ever the case. Remember that retail buyers are humans too, they're overwhelmed, they are managing inventory, dealing with staff, and sitting through dozens of other pitches just like yours. Your first email is a needle in a haystack. The second email is a reminder. The third email is mostly where the conversation actually begins. Professionalism in the retail world is measured by your ability to stay top of mind without being a nuisance. This is why you must move away from manual guessing and start having an actual plan. It helps to track every single touchpoint. If you reached out to a boutique in Cape Town last Monday, you should have a scheduled task to nudge them this Tuesday. Promise me you’ll stop taking silence personally? Treat every non-response as a signal to provide more value. Maybe send a link to a new lookbook, share a photo of your best-selling product in a different setting, or mention a new stockist you just signed. Every touchpoint is an opportunity to build a relationship. If you want to see your precious handmade products in stores, you have to be willing to show up more than once. The magic usually happens between the third and fifth contact. That is where the hobbyists quit and the entrepreneurs get paid. I'm writing about tactics like these in a guide that I'll be releasing soon. Follow this page to learn more and download another free guide that's readily available in my bio. #creativeentrepreneur #businessgrowth #creativementor #smallbusinesscoach #dollarstoresupplier
