@daily.dose.of.med: 👇Patellar subluxation occurs when the kneecap (patella) partially slips out of its normal groove at the end of the thighbone (femur), usually toward the outer side of the knee. It is different from a complete patellar dislocation, in which the kneecap completely leaves the groove. Subluxation can happen after a sudden twisting movement, sports injury, awkward landing, or direct blow to the knee. Some people are more prone to it because of naturally loose ligaments, abnormal leg alignment, a shallow femoral groove, or muscle imbalance. Common symptoms include knee pain, swelling, a sensation that the kneecap is shifting or “giving way,” clicking or popping, and difficulty bending or straightening the knee. Sometimes the kneecap moves back into position on its own. Follow for more videos❤️ #orthopedics #physicaltherapy #kneepain #kneesurgery #physicaltherapist
