I love this bed. however I do kind of worry that the lack of airflow could cause the mattresses to mold over time, even with regularly changing the sheets. maybe a hole saw drill bit to drill some air holes?

Please drill a bunch of holes in the base under the mattresses.... and maybe get some very quiet fans (Dyson?) to blow air under that big base. Otherwise, you are just going to have terribly moldy mattresses

You need holes under the mattress in the box so it airs out. Otherwise you will have mold.
