Orthodox Christianity is one of the oldest Christian traditions in the world. It traces its history back to the apostles and the first Christian communities. The word “Orthodox” comes from Greek and is commonly understood as meaning “right belief” or “right worship.” Orthodox Christians believe that the Church has preserved the teachings of Jesus Christ and the apostles throughout history. The central belief of Orthodox Christianity is the Holy Trinity: one God who exists as three Persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is believed to be the Son of God who became truly human while remaining truly divine. Christians believe that Christ willingly suffered, died, and rose from the dead in order to defeat sin and death and restore humanity's relationship with God. The Bible is extremely important in Orthodoxy, but Orthodox Christians also rely on Holy Tradition. Tradition includes the teachings of the apostles, the decisions of the Ecumenical Councils, the writings of the Church Fathers, the liturgy, and the spiritual life of the Church. The Bible itself is understood within this living tradition rather than separately from it. Orthodox worship is centered around the Divine Liturgy. During the Liturgy, Christians pray together, hear Scripture, praise God, and receive Holy Communion. Orthodox churches are often decorated with icons of Christ, the Virgin Mary, angels, and saints. Icons are not worshipped as gods; rather, they are honored because they point toward the persons represented. Worship belongs to God alone. Orthodox Christianity also places great importance on repentance, prayer, fasting, charity, humility, and love for other people. Saints are respected as examples of people who lived faithfully and became closer to God. The Church teaches that Christians should not only believe in Christ intellectually, but should try to transform their lives through faith and cooperation with God's grace. Today, Orthodox Christianity is practiced throughout many countries, including Serbia, Greece, Russia, Romania, Georgia, and others. Although Orthodox Christians come from different cultures and nations, they share the same central faith in Christ. For Orthodox Christians, Christianity is not simply a set of ideas, but a way of life centered on knowing, loving, and following Jesus Christ. #edit #saint #orthodox #icon #christian

Creatine, one of the world’s most widely used muscle-building supplements, is now being investigated for its potential effects on brain energy, memory and Alzheimer’s disease. Although creatine is best known for helping muscles produce energy during intense exercise, the brain also uses it. Brain cells require enormous amounts of energy to communicate, process information and maintain their connections. Creatine helps replenish ATP, the molecule cells use as their immediate energy supply. Through the creatine-phosphocreatine system, it acts as a temporary energy reserve when cellular demand increases. This has attracted researchers studying Alzheimer’s disease because problems with energy metabolism can appear in the brain long before severe memory loss develops. In a 2025 pilot study, researchers at the University of Kansas Medical Center gave 20 people with Alzheimer’s disease 20 grams of creatine monohydrate daily for eight weeks. Brain creatine levels increased by approximately 11%, and participants showed improvements on several tests involving memory, attention and thinking skills. However, the study was small and had no placebo control group. It did not establish that creatine slows Alzheimer’s progression by 30%, as claimed in the image, or that it can prevent the disease. Larger controlled trials are needed to determine whether these improvements translate into lasting clinical benefits. The findings suggest that a familiar sports supplement may have applications beyond muscle performance, particularly in understanding how the brain maintains its energy supply.
