![NUMERICAL NUANCES - Two Similar Prophets [03:59] Did you know Prophet Adam and Prophet Isa عليهما السلام are each mentioned by name 25 times in the Quran? In Surah Aal-Imran (3:59), Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says: إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ آدَمَ “Indeed, the example of Isa with Allah is like the example of Adam.” The Quran connects these two prophets in remarkable ways. 🍃 Their creation: Adam عليه السلام had neither a father nor a mother, while Isa عليه السلام was born to a mother without a father. 🍃 The same command: Allah created both by His command, “Kun fa-yakūn” — “Be, and it is.” 🍃 The spirit: The Quran describes the breathing of the spirit in the accounts of both prophets. 🍃 The word: Adam عليه السلام received words from Allah, while Isa عليه السلام is described as a word from Him. 🍃 Clay and miracles: Adam was created from clay, while Isa formed a bird from clay and breathed into it by Allah's permission. The context makes this even more powerful. The verse came as a response to the Christian delegation from Najran, whose claims about Isa's birth were addressed through the example of Adam. If being born without a father proved divinity, what about Adam, who had neither a father nor a mother? The miraculous birth of Isa عليه السلام points to the power of the Creator, not the divinity of the creation.
