Did Salman Khan really ruin people's careers? From Vicky Oberoi to Arijit Singh, the truth behind Salman Khan's major controversies By Professor Faisal Ghaffar In Bollywood, Salman Khan's name is not just associated with successful films, superstars, and numerous fans, but also with several major controversies. In 2003, Vicky Oberoi levelled serious allegations against Salman Khan at a press conference. According to Vicky, Salman called him nearly 41 times in one night, abused him, and even threatened to kill him. This controversy intensified further when Vicky Oberoi was in a relationship with Aishwarya Rai, while Aishwarya had previously been in a relationship with Salman Khan. Salman Khan denied Vicky's allegations, saying he never threatened her. But the real story began after that. Vicky Oberoi says that after this controversy, her Bollywood career came to a halt. She stated that Salman Khan had made her quit her acting career, which is not true. This is mostly based on Vicky's own statements, producers' comments, and media reports. Arijit Singh: A Joke That Started as a Dispute? The case of Salman Khan and famous singer Arijit Singh also became part of Bollywood's famous controversies. In a 2014 award show, Salman joked that he was sleeping. Arijit responded casually, saying, "You people have already slept." Later, this brief conversation turned into a big controversy. In 2016, it came to light that Arijit's voice would not be used in Salman's film Sultan. Arijit apologized to Salman on social media and requested that his song be included in the film. This case created the impression that Salman brings his personal differences into professional matters. But an interesting twist came later. In 2025, Salman Khan himself said that the misunderstanding that occurred between Arijit and him was due to him, and he considered Arijit a good friend. That is, the matter between Arijit and Salman eventually turned into a friendship. John Abraham: Was Salman also targeted? News of differences between the two surfaced during the 2006 Rockstars tour. Both had differences, and later, there were also reports of a cold war between them over the music for Salman's film Bodyguard. This example shows that a disagreement with Salman does not always mean that the other person's career is over. Shah Rukh Khan: The war of ego between two superstars The Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan controversy is also one of the most famous disputes in Bollywood history. Both had a friendship and then a severe disagreement. At one stage, both refrained from working with each other. But later time brought them back together. Today, both have been seen supporting each other's successes. So the Shah Rukh Khan case does not prove that Salman Khan ended someone's career. Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and some other actors have also been reported to have differences with Ranbir Kapoor. Especially personal relationships, friendship or relationships and internal politics of the industry have been linked to these differences. But here too, caution is necessary. Attributing the ups and downs in a actor's career solely to their relationship is not a strong journalistic conclusion. In Bollywood, there are several factors that influence the films, producer's preference, box office, personal decisions, script, management and market conditions. Why does the name of Sushant Singh Rajput come up? Salman Khan's critics also mentioned Sushant Singh Rajput's case, but many such statements were spread on social media without any credible basis. Even an extremely offensive statement about Sushant was viral, which was fact-checked and declared fake. Therefore, it would not be right to present the case of social media as a proven allegation against Salman Khan. Then the question is, where did the idea come from that "Salman Khan's career ended because of him"? #SalmanKhan #SalmanKhanControversy #VivekOberoi #ArijitSingh #ShahRukhKhan - @jutt.brand8739
