Banned books in schools… not banned to read. People can still purchase them or pick up at a library.

They challenge/ban Handmaid's Tale but it's literally their current guidebook.

My stepdaughter went and read every banned book because of this. It opened her eyes so much to what is happening and she went from 🔴 to 💙. Smart teenager!

Not being included in school curriculum is not the same as banning.

Read banned books. When my son was young and wanted to read a book that I didn't know a lot about, that I thought might be heavy, I read it too and then we TALKED about it. We had our own book club and we encouraged critical thinking, not being afraid to ask questions, get hard answers, make up your own mind etc. Sometimes the horrible parts are worth it in order to understand the consequences of the world we live in. Also, the government should not have ANY say on what we read EVER. I see worse on the news every day. P.S. My kids are 25, 21, and 2. I've been doing this way before shit started getting banned.

And with that I’m going to say it with my chest we do not cancel authors. (Unless their using AI) as cancellations lead to banned books and censorship
