I find it funny that the shape of this artwork resembles that of both an airplane window and a pill. Travel is like a drug. When you travel, you gain an open mind and you see things you’ve never seen. I titled this artwork ‘Himmelblau’. In German, that’s a specific shade of blue- heavenly blue. Yet, here I haven’t painted just one colour, I used four shades of blue that fade into one. In the centre of the canvas I painted a Lufthansa airplane. It’s a proudly German airline and their logo is a white bird in a blue circle just like this metal bird is surrounded by blue. I think travelling allows you to see the world in a different way and art can do the same. This artwork was sold during my release this past Sunday.
