@securebordersuk: By early 2027, all eGates at UK airports are expected to become contactless.   This new gradual rollout begins at East Midlands Airport, allowing passengers to pass through securely without placing their passport on a reader.    This is estimated to be up to 25% faster than using a passport at an eGate.  The system uses state-of-the-art facial technology to verify a passenger’s identity before border security checks are carried out in full. #UKNews #Border #Immigration #UKImmigration
