This woman gave a complete stranger $20,000 to clear her credit card debt, then forgave the entire loan. Both times, all she got was “OK, thanks.” And afterward, she charged her $3.50 for a coffee! Come on! This isn’t about expecting anything in return. It’s about basic human decency and gratitude. What does it take for someone to recognize an extraordinary act of kindness? The receiver shouldn’t treat a blessing as though it were nothing.

Absolutely I would feel fantastic giving money, goods, or time to help. I don’t donate in hopes of a thank you or a feeling of gratitude from the person. In fact most of the time I do it anonymously.

I did a sponsor for my son's school, saved around a few hundred pounds for the school as I abseiled down the church next to it . 😂😂 ( there was a few of us) I handed the money into the school to the reception and I didn't get a single thanks from the school. I never did anything again .

The art of giving is not expecting returns, until then you better dont. Save your heart and dont ruin what you feel..if you dont feel like donating without wanting some kind of return, then you are not ready to give which is fine. Same with helping you siblings with money..

I don’t think she expected something back, but she expected common consideration. The fact her response was so flat could be interpreted as unappreciative of the extension of her gratitude. It’s just poor social form.

If you don’t appreciate a loan or a gift, don’t expect to receive one again. Gratitude matters. Respect matters. Boundaries matter. Never take someone’s kindness or generosity for granted. Help is a privilege, not an entitlement, and how you treat people matters.💙
