I have a hard time cooking for me and my husband. He is a diabetic, which is a fiber diet for him and I with my ileostomy is low fiber. 😏

I Don’t know you personally but i have been and watching your journey, you are amazing I hope am as strong as you when my time comes 🥰 Am on a waiting list for my stoma, struggling to get my head around it and am so scared. I have suffered all my life with bowel problems slow transit constipation and have had an SNS device in for years but it’s not working with it so I have no other choice but to have the stoma now and I can’t keep living in pain and in and out of hospital but am so scared about everything xx

They gave me peppermint oil tablets to take didn’t help the trapped gas but it did make my output smell like peppermint 😂

The gas to issue is to walk or move as much as you can.

That’s great to hear, I know a few people have been in for a couple of weeks afterwards so it’s nice to hear you had a pretty normal experience 🫶

My ileostomy surgery was complex and it had to change to “Open” surgery after it started and I ended up in ICU for a few days and stayed in hospital for a couple of weeks. As Stevie mentioned, I also had diet issues. I just wasn’t allowed to discharge as I had Sepsis. Overall experience and pain was ok considering. Just leave your dignity at the front door…
