@lou430d: Do people see 100,000 miles on a diesel and immediately assume the engine is finished? A diesel that's been properly serviced, driven regularly on longer journeys and maintained correctly can still have plenty of life left at 150,000 or even 200,000 miles. Meanwhile, a low-mileage car that's been neglected, used for nothing but short journeys or had its servicing ignored can be a complete money pit. Mileage matters, obviously. Wear and tear is real, and turbos, injectors, DPFs, gearboxes and other components don't last forever. But the number on the dashboard doesn't tell you the whole story. So I'll ask you this: would you rather buy a well-maintained diesel with 150,000 miles and a full service history, or a 60,000-mile example with questionable maintenance? #ukcarscene #carculture #dieselengine #dieselpower #dirtydiesel

No . Change the oil , filter and fuel filter regularly and don’t rag it on cold mornings . Evidence . T4 208000 , Golf Tdi 200000, focus 1580 Duratoque . 134000 . All going strong .

my mates mk3 Skoda Superb 2.0 tdi had 720k miles when it was decommissioned as a taxi. to this day its still on the road as a daily run about ans going strong

132,000 miles full main dealer service history.. oil change every 5000-6000 miles remapped to 270bhp and 600Nm of torque.. pulls like a train. a totally clean MOT in August this year. lokl after them and they'll look after you 👌

Have nissan navara 2018, vehicle has 292,000 miles, and both turbos,injectors, the timing chain, DPF and EGR are still original. change your oil oil and filters often.👌

direct injection used to do 500 thousand no problems.noe a turbo is 1500 grand , injectors can be 4000 grand , fuel pumps can be 1500 , sensors 2 or 3 hundred each , clutch and flywheels 2500 .that's just for starters not including eggs and particle filters.its not the engines , it's everything connected to them that goes wrong and that's where they cash in making it unviable to take your car to the moon and back

Yeh my 10 year old 220d coupe had 230,000 miles on a B47 and apart from brakes tyres the usual, it never missed a beat but was serviced by main dealership at the appropriate time 😁
