And what happens if City are docked points before the appeal is concluded, only for the club to be cleared afterwards? Who compensates them for the damage already done? Who restores the lost points, the shattered morale, the matches potentially lost through demoralisation, and the trophies or league positions that may have slipped away? You cannot simply reverse the psychological and competitive consequences of a punishment after the damage has been done. That would be a monumental miscarriage of justice. But perhaps that is precisely the point. For the so-called red cartel, it seems the objective is not justice but to see City punished at all costs, whether guilty or innocent. Punish first, establish guilt later, and call it sporting integrity. What breathtaking hypocrisy!
