Rashi's commentary on October 7th. The Torah begins with בְּרֵאשִׁית. In the beginning. God creating the heavens and the earth. Rashi asks immediately, why does a book of law begin with creation? And he answers. Because the nations of the world will come and say לִסְטִים אַתֶּם. You are thieves. You stole the land of Israel. And our answer is written in the very first word of the Torah. The Creator of heaven and earth gave us this land. It is His to give. And He gave it to us. That is Rashi's commentary on October 7th. When they call us thieves, when they call us robbers, when they say we have no right to be here, go back to the beginning. The very first word. The answer was always there. This land will shine a spiritual light to the entire world. Yerushalayim will be a בֵּית תְּפִלָּה לְכָל הָעַמִּים, a house of prayer for every single soul.
