Nepal is once again facing a devastating flood disaster in the Budhigandaki region, causing widespread destruction to hundreds of homes and buildings, damaging major bridges, and disrupting vital road networks connecting key districts. What makes this tragedy even more heartbreaking is that Nepal has barely had time to recover from the recent floods in the Bhotekoshi rasuwa and Trishuli river regions. Now, we are facing yet another disaster, leaving communities displaced, infrastructure damaged, livelihoods destroyed, and countless families living in uncertainty. At this point, we must ask ourselves: How many more disasters must Nepal endure before long-term solutions become a national and international priority? It is true that floods are natural disasters, and no country can completely prevent them. We should not rush to blame any single individual or institution for the forces of nature. However, the scale of destruction, the repeated loss of infrastructure, and the vulnerability of communities raise serious questions about preparedness, disaster-risk management, infrastructure planning, and climate resilience. This is where geopolitics and international cooperation must move beyond diplomatic statements and deliver practical results. Nepal should strengthen regional cooperation with India, China, Bangladesh, and other relevant partners, while using international platforms such as the G20 to advocate for climate finance, disaster-resilient infrastructure, technology transfer, and stronger regional early-warning mechanisms. #prayfornepal #fyp #flood #nepal #budigandaki
