@brighteyes847: Garbage Bread RECIPE-COOKING WITH BRIGHT EYES Ingredients: For the Dough: 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade) 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing) Optional: 1 teaspoon garlic powder or Italian seasoning (for extra flavor) For the Filling: ½ pound ground beef or Italian sausage, cooked and drained ½ cup pepperoni slices 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese ½ cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce ½ cup diced bell peppers (any color) ¼ cup diced onion ¼ cup sliced black olives (optional) 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Salt and pepper, to taste For Topping (Optional): 1 tablespoon melted butter 1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese Pinch of dried oregano or parsley Directions: Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Prepare the Filling: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or sausage until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Let cool slightly. In a bowl, mix the cooked meat with pepperoni, mozzarella, cheddar, pizza sauce, bell peppers, onions, and black olives (if using). Stir until combined. Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 10x14 inches and ¼-inch thick. Assemble the Bread: Spread the filling evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log, tucking in the ends as you go to seal the filling inside. Pinch the seams to secure. Bake: Place the rolled bread seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder or Italian seasoning, if desired. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted inside. Finish and Serve: Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter, then sprinkle with Parmesan and oregano or parsley, if using. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing into 1-2 inch pieces. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce or ranch for dipping.
