Not gonna bother to watch this long dragging video, I am just gonna say what I believe is the answer.. CONDUCTIVITY.

Metal will reduce your hand temperature quicker than wood because it is a better conductor

Metal absorb heat 😅 it's taking the heat of hand

Long and boring, you could just simply say at the beginning that metal has much better energy transfer than wood. And therefore your finger is cooling much faster by metal.

There’s a reason your computer is not stuffed with wooden heat sinks.

Metal is a very good conductor of heat, so when it comes into contact with our hand it equalizes its temperature by taking heat from our hand (and vice versa). Wood, on the other hand, is a poorer conductor of heat; it does of course lose its heat and exchange it with our hand, but at a much slower rate. If, in practice, the metal or wood we touch is colder than our hand, we feel the metal colder; if it is hotter, we feel the metal hotter.

metal conducts electricity wood does not. so when you touch the wood you are only feeling the surface temperature whereas when you touch metal the temperature is past through the metal and exchanges with your body heat until it's equal. In the wood the heat from your body is trapped on the surface of the wood which is why it doesn't get colder. However in a fire the wood ignites and causes a reacting that burns up the wood.
