Millennial dads statistically are the most involved fathers of any generation on record. That's both sad and encouraging.

Some men want wives and children but don’t want to be husbands and fathers.

My wife had very difficult labor. When the time came to change my son's first diaper, I jumped right to it. She was exhausted and in pain. The doctor and a nurse walked in while I was changing it and their jaws hit the floor. "oh... *you're* changing it?" Yeah, why wouldn't I?... the nurse then proceeded to walk the hallways telling every nurse she found that I was changing my son's diaper

My mom complained to me that she never gets to spend time alone with my brother because he’s always “helping” his wife with their kids! 😳 You mean the 4 kids he created? The ones he takes care of because he also chose to have them? Those kids? Get out of here!

A lot of parents treat their kids like glorified pets. They want to OWN children, not raise and care for them.

My dad was very uninvolved. I’m so happy that my brother is being a parent

My dad left his job to stay at home but he was the most uninvolved person in every way. He didn’t even know our birthdays. 🤦‍♀️

My dad got this treatment. Man loved being a parent. A lot of suspicion as well or acting like he was "effeminate" for being a parent instead of shirking responsibility.

I used to leave my husband with the twins to bask in the glory of being a hands on dad so I could actually get our errands done cuz fml, old people wanna stop you and ask the same fuckin questions just cuz there's 2 of them.

Went with a friend once to pick up her little brother from school and an older woman came up and said to me "good to see a young man taking responsibility for his mistakes" Excuse me?!

When I called to pay for my daughter's wisdom teeth extraction, I gave them her name and the lady on the phone said, "Oh YOU'RE the dad who filled out her paperwork!". Like really? It's MY dental plan! 🤣🤣🤣

I’m only an uncle (wife and I have no children) and I took all my nieces & nephews out when they were infants & toddlers all by myself plenty of times.

I work at a wine shop and I've been in the industry for years and it used to be WOMEN were doing all the shopping for baby/bridal showers. it was always bubbles and "rosé all day" girlies, and in the last few years, it's really transitioned into being much more balanced! more beer and whiskey requests. It's very refreshing in my world.

Those same people (mostly women) will offer help and kudos to dads in the wild, but sneer at a struggling mom trying to get a stroller through a door. It’s ridiculous.

My male-presenting spouse has been the stay at home parent for our child’s entire life. I’m still the one who gets calls from the school because I’m the mom. It was infuriating enough when I was working full time but now that I’m DISABLED (and working from home), it makes me want to throw hands.

My father never complained about baby sitting. He retired when I was 5, so he was there, all the time. It wasn't babysitting, he was teaching, playing, climbing mountains, building camp fires, ...all the things. Finding out my ex husband wouldn't push a stroller on a walk, told me plenty. [Innocent]

I went off on my boomer mother for saying nasty things about all the dads at the park who were playing with their children. She was eyeing them all like they were predators and they were just pushing their kids on swings and playing tag. An equal number of moms and dads at the park in a Saturday and she's saying the men shouldn't be there around the kids. WHY?!?! Why is anyone having kids with men they can't trust to be around their kids or rely on for help with them???

Looking back at my life and genealogy, I realize how incredibly lucky I am to come from a line of men that were very involved. But unfortunately it probably stems from my great grandmother dying in childbirth and my great grandfather never remarrying. He was the only parent to 4 kids (all boys) in the 1920’s. And that involvement was passed down to each generation. My childhood memories of my dad and grandfather mean more to me than any other family member.

I remember I had to go to the gas station when my children were all small, and while I was taking the third kid out of the car, some lady was like “you’re the best dad!” And it’s like “all I did was not leave them in the car.”

I’m in my 30s and my dad wouldn’t be able to tell you two things about me. And my parents weren’t split up or anything. He just doesn’t give a fuck about me.

My dad's a boomer but he changed all of our diapers and he fed all of us. like he did just as much work as my mom in raising us. I cannot imagine him not being involved. When my mom said Grandpa never changed any diapers. I was fucking shocked.
