I can understand from both sides, but we live in a world where everybody has a phone in their pocket and let’s be honest we check those phones several times within an hour or so yeah just a little message to explain. The lack of communication would’ve been fine and definitely the bare minimum.

I hate the entitlement people feel. There used to be a time if people didn’t answer their phone because they weren’t home for 8-12 hours, you had to call back, and if you were lucky they had an answering machine and could leave a message. Cell phones have ruined people, and make them feel they’re owed immediate and instant access, and they’re definitely not.

The amount of people who think they’re grown for not talking to someone for a whole day or so many hours at a time is baffling to me. It takes 30 seconds max to tell someone you’re busy. Really easy thing to do if you actually care. And if you don’t talk the entire day, you’re just an acquaintance, that’s not a relationship

In a relationship I set a clear boundary to begin with. I’m a busy person, so if I don’t respond right away (especially during work hours) give me some time. I’m a mechanic, so I can’t always just rip my phone out of my pocket without putting myself or other people at risks at times. If it’s an emergency call me, and I’ll do my best to answer or call back when I can. If that’s too much to ask then it’s best we aren’t together.

It’s crazy how people are acting like a few hours is the end of the world. If you can’t handle not talking for a few hours then I’m sorry, but you aren’t ready to actually date anybody. Doesn’t matter if they tell you they’re busy or not, nobody has to tell you that. If they don’t answer assume they’re busy. They’ll answer when they answer. 😭

hot take: i hate how technology and phones have led people to believe that you need to respond within two seconds, and be available at absolutely any time. yes humans need human contact and socialization but up until the late 90s/early 2000s it wasn’t expected to need to talk and respond to someone within minutes. yes it’s convenient, and i do think not responds for days can be ridiculous but not everyone looks at their phone 24/7 especially if you have jobs where you are busy (restaurants, healthcare, etc.) mind you, most jobs these days have a no phone policy
