@lionof.christ: Russian skydiver Sergey Boytsov set a world record for the highest parachute jump from a hot-air balloon, stepping off at 11,551 metres over Russia’s Altai region on 22 August 2026, Russian Flag Day. At that altitude the temperature was minus 59 degrees. He reached a peak speed of 501 kilometres per hour during a freefall of around two and a half minutes before opening his parachute at 1,565 metres. Before he stepped off, he unfolded the Russian flag, made the sign of the cross, and said: “I am returning to my Motherland.” ☦️ #christianity #orthodox #orthodoxchristianity #skydiving
