PATRICIA KRENWINKEL RECOMMENDED FOR PAROLE — AGAIN Patricia Krenwinkel, one of the former followers of Charles Manson convicted in the infamous 1969 Tate-LaBianca murders, has once again been recommended for parole. Krenwinkel, now 78 years old, has spent nearly six decades behind bars. This is the third time California’s parole board has approved her for release. Previous parole decisions were ultimately overturned by Gov. Gavin Newsom. The latest decision came Tuesday during Krenwinkel’s 18th parole suitability hearing. However, she is not being released immediately. The decision is still subject to a 120-day review by the California Board of Parole Hearings, followed by review by the governor. Newsom could ultimately allow the decision to stand or reverse it. Krenwinkel was convicted for her role in the murders of seven people, including actress Sharon Tate, who was pregnant at the time, as well as Tate’s friends and Leno and Rosemary LaBianca. Her attorneys point to decades of rehabilitation, a clean disciplinary record, therapy, education and psychological evaluations that they say indicate she now poses a low risk to the public. But the case remains deeply emotional for the victims’ families. Sharon Tate’s sister, Debra Tate, has repeatedly opposed Krenwinkel’s release and has continued advocating for the victims and their families. For now, Krenwinkel remains incarcerated while the parole decision goes through the next stages of review. After nearly 60 years in prison, the question once again becomes: Should Patricia Krenwinkel be released? What do you think? I’m really unsure on this one. #PatriciaKrenwinkel #MansonFamily #SharonTate #TrueCrime #parole
