@percyswaterbill: When comparing the Narnia movies to the books, it's important to remember that they are largely distinct entities. The movies, though inspired by the books, don't follow the exact story or plot lines; they adapted only three of the seven books, and not always faithfully. We should accept that the movies and books offer different narratives within the same universe. The characters, their individual stories, and even the endings diverge significantly. While it's fun to compare them, it's not truly fair because they aren't the same story. The movies, for instance, omit many characters, likely due to time constraints, and primarily focus on the Pevensie story without a complete adherence to the books. It's perfectly fine to enjoy both the movies and the books, or to prefer one over the other. The comparison isn't always fair, but it's an enjoyable exercise for many. Looking ahead, with new adaptations like The Magician's Nephew (the first book) in development, there's hope for a more faithful retelling. Imagine if the original Narnia books had been adapted into a detailed series! With the depth of the universe, it could have rivaled shows like Game of Thrones, potentially becoming one of the greatest series of all time. The original movies were already incredible and loved by many, regardless of whether they'd read the books. As an adult, the fantasy elements are still breathtaking. If they had created a series that was more faithful to the books, perhaps dedicating one season per book, and explored more elements like the Golden Age, it would have been truly amazing. I'm still grateful for the upcoming movies and, of course, for the incredible books we already have. #narnia #edmundpevensie #aslan #lucypevensie #peterpevensie
