I’m an RN and have taken care of tons of patients with cellulitis from cat scratches/bites! It’s not uncommon at all and you’re exactly where you need to be 💖 The IV antibiotics will help immensely over the next couple days! Also — the swelling is your body’s response to the trauma! It’s caused by the inflammatory response, increased capillary permeability (see pic) and the hormonal mechanisms that conserve water and sodium. When you don’t understand what’s happening, it makes it much scarier so I hope this little bit of info helps bring you some peace!! You’re gonna be just fine girl! You got this!!

my sweet little boy was just hospitalized a couple weeks ago for cellulitis, his was pretty severe & now we’re home & he’s doing great! he says you got this Lace!!🤍

Girl i had cellulitis in my face and i ended up ok. The strong antibiotics will do what they need to. You are right where you need to be. The pain is awful but it will get better ❤️❤️❤️

I had cat scratch fever and I am fine! The antibiotics worked! You will get better and everything will be okay! For the cat.. my moms cat was like yours wanted out so bad well one day they let her and she was gone for a few days.. got her ass beat by another cat. Showed up at the door had to take her to the vet she was fine but homegirl doesn’t even go near the door anymore! So I’d say put a tracker on him and let him go explore! He’ll be back.
