@foursleepingdogs: For over seven years, Holly had a family. Now she spends all day standing at the back of her kennel, watching people walk by, hoping someone will stop for her. They see an old pittie with cropped ears and keep walking. What they don’t see is her gentle heart. Holly was surrendered because her family was moving out of state. Seven years of being someone’s dog, living with multiple other dogs, and now she’s alone . Her previous owner described her as loving and playful with large and small dogs, cats, and children. Holly has not yet participated in playgroup here, but she has been very friendly during her walks and interactions with other dogs. She’s an American XL Bully. But she’s just 53 pounds. Holly hasn’t had much of an appetite here. She spends so much of her time watching the world outside her kennel, and what she seems to want more than anything is to be close to someone. When she gets that opportunity, she leans into every touch, soaking up the affection and attention she’s been missing. It’s difficult watching a dog who has known a home for her whole life adjust to kennel life, especially one who wants so badly to be with people. Please don’t let the rest of Holly’s time be spent watching people walk away. She has already lost the only home she knew.
