Rylan Hall :
I’m not Christian anymore, but the Christian belief is that same sex attraction is equal to adultery and by itself something sinful, they therefore should not support said same sex attraction, but hating the person who is of same sex attraction is not what they’re told to do, they love the person and all they are, with the exception that they do not support their sexual orientation. Hence the term, “love the person, not the sin”. Now many Christians who I’ve seen have not been kind or otherwise respectful to people of queer sexual orientation, and I believe that is why Christianity is frowned upon by many non religious groups. But many queer groups use the term “love thy neighbor” incredibly out of context, assuming one of the Christian faith must condone sinful behavior along with the person committing said behavior. That is not at all what they’re told quote mean, the quote means, similar to what I said, to love and respect the person who commits sinful behavior, but do not condone the sin in any way, but we don’t not treat someone who sins as sin itself. I hope this helps people be a bit more open minded about what the Christian faith is, and another thing, Christian’s can judge, but judge righteously
