This literally happened with a troope of Bonobos. The aggressive alpha males all died after eating poisoned food that they refused to share. The young males who grew up surrounded by a matriarchy grew up kinder and the whole troope was peaceful. That’s it in a nutshell anyway but the take away is a matriarchy will always survive.
