Kamala Harris sits down with Keke Palmer to talk about the SCOTUS decision that changed the Voting Rights Act forever. Louisiana v. Callais is more than a Supreme Court case. It has major implications for how congressional districts are drawn, how communities are represented, and how voting rights are protected across the country. Eliminating these majority Black congressional districts removes the power of Black votes all across the country. In April 2026, the Supreme Court struck down Louisiana’s congressional map that included TWO majority-Black districts. The 6–3 ruling narrowed protections under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, making it harder to challenge district maps on the grounds that they dilute minority voting power. So what does that actually mean for voters? 👀 Louisiana has since adopted a new congressional map that eliminates its second majority-Black district. That changes which communities vote together, which candidates appear on their ballots, and who represents them in Congress. Civil rights advocates & VP Harris warn that the ruling could weaken Black political representation nationwide, while supporters of this decision argue that congressional boundaries should not be drawn predominantly on the basis of race. What do you think? With the November 3 midterms approaching, understanding your congressional district is more important than ever. Because voting rights aren’t just about casting a ballot. They’re also about how representation is determined. 📍 Check your congressional district and review your sample ballot ahead of Election Day on November 3rd. #LouisianaVoters #VotingRights #LouisianaVCallais #OurPower #CVPriority
