to reduce mido’s character to her cheating would be character assassination and that’s all i see in comments on tiktok and instagram and occasionally on here as well. if mido had kissed taesung after her and namgung had broken up she would still be a flawed and hurt character but all that’s clouded now because the kiss happened earlier. part of the discourse also feels like a “gotcha” moment to say “yeah girls cheat too and try to justify it” but it’s really so much more than that. yes mido cheated im not even going to deny that but let’s put of thinking caps on and watch this drama from a rational perspective rather than an emotional one. these characters are so layered and seasoned that their characterization shouldn’t be tied down to just “the ml emotionally cheated” “fl kissed the sml, i hate her” like WHAT?? we aren’t 14 reading a wattpad book where the characters are written for purely entertainment purposes by a 16 year old author who doesn’t have a qualification in writing.

It’s kinda crazy that they casted a 2nd ml who has more chemistry with the fl more than ml like the chemistry is 1. 2nd ml and fl 2. Fl and ml 3. Ml and 2nd fl they really did wonders with the casting and Ahn Eun Jin indeed has more chemistry with actors like 2nd ml too

I find it pretty interesting how our thoughts are so occupied with watching the main characters that we completely overlook the second leads. The second male lead knew Mi-do was in a long-term relationship and still got involved with her, while the second female lead knew the main male lead had been in a long-term relationship and still fell for him. If you really look at it, none of them is perfect. The new people got involved because there was already space for them to enter their broken lives. Things with the second leads happened so fast that they had no time to think about the consequences. They just acted on impulses and excuses. There is no going back for either of them. The only thing left is to see whether they will recognise that what they had was love or just gratitude, admiration, and familiarity.

IM TOTALLY NOT WITH OKAY WITH WITH CHEATING. what i see in this kdrama so essentially is that, That THE OTHER MAN HE ACTUALLY READ HER EYES , something her long-term boyfriend failed to do. From what I gather in this narrative, she has perpetually been cast in the role of the infallible heroine and matriarch so fiercely protective, exceptionally competent, and thriving in every arena. Yet, but with HIM, she finally drops the armor, giving full expression to her raw anger, vulnerabilities, deepseated insecurities, and unfiltered emotions. This dynamic ultimately allows her to embrace her feminine energy, secure in the profound sense of protection HE PROVIDE. And at long last, she is seen for who she truly is: a woman both resilient and vulnerable, carrying quiet pain and a longing for HER MAN to shield her, a man to lean on when she NO LONGER WISHES to be her own hero (even though she can be a hero which seems she’s been doing that through all these years.) or carry the weight of saving herself.
