ARLINGTON, TEXAS 🇺🇸 Regla Becquer, who operated unlicensed group homes in North Texas, has been sentenced to 28 years in prison and two years in state jail following guilty pleas in a case involving vulnerable adults. According to FOX 4 and CBS Texas reports published on October 13–14, 2026, Becquer's case involved financial elder ab¥se, endangerment and criminally negligent homicide. WHAT HAPPENED? Becquer operated five group homes through a company called Love and Caring for People LLC. The homes provided care for adults with physical and mental disabilities in Arlington, Mansfield and Grand Prairie, Texas. She was arrested in 2024 after a woman reported harmful conditions at one of the homes. INVESTIGATORS IDENTIFIED MULTIPLE DEATHS Police initially identified at least 13 people who died while living at, or shortly after leaving, the homes from September 2022 onward. Later reporting by CBS Texas said investigators had identified at least 20 clients who died. These figures reflect deaths identified during the investigation. They do not mean that every death was proven to have resulted from criminal conduct. Investigators also examined allegations involving residents' finances, personal property and access to family members. QUESTIONS ABOUT A PROPERTY TRANSFER One part of the investigation concerned a handwritten will dated October 7, 2022. It reportedly left a former client's estate to Becquer. The client died later that month, and authorities investigated whether the document was forged. THE SENTENCE It was eported that Becquer received 18 years in prison for financial elder ab¥se, 10 years for abandoning or endangering an individual, and two years in state jail for criminally negligent homicide. The combined sentence as 28 years in prison and two years in state jail. The case has also drawn attention to the oversight of unlicensed residential care facilities and the protection of adults with disabilities. #ArlingtonTexasUSA #Mansfield #GrandPrairie #ReglaBecquer #japd
